Black History Month Listening Glyphs & Worksheets

Category

Description

This is a set of listening worksheets for Black History Month in elementary music worksheets include 3 versions for each piece of music to allow you to adapt your lessons to multiple grades or levels:

  • 12 Listening glyphs with music terminology (allegro, adagio, tempo, mood, instrument families, etc.) – 2 worksheets have blank titles for your students to use with the music of your own choosing.
  • Listening glyphs with general wording (fast, slow, loud, quiet, etc.)
  • Listen, draw, and circle worksheets (for differentiation & younger children)

Listening glyphs ask students to color an image based on what they hear in the music. For example, a worksheet might ask them to color the sun orange if the music is allegro, and yellow if the music is adagio. If they hear slow music, they will color the sun yellow. (Both musical term and general term versions are included) A great way to build active listening skills!

Recordings of the music are not included in the resource (music referenced is easily accessible on YouTube and Spotify).
